Course Guidance for Students Registering for Japanese language Classes in 1st Semester (April) AY2024

International students registering for Japanese language classes must take a Japanese proficiency check test and undergo course guidance with their respective Japanese language coordinator BEFORE attending and registering. Students who can not participate in the course guidance dates stipulated below inform their individual class coordinators and undergo course guidance by the deadline below.

【Important!! 】
 From the second semester of 2023, international students taking A3, B1, B2, and C1 level Japanese classes should take the Japanese language proficiency check test at the University of the Ryukyus International Education Center according to the schedule below. You should attend the class guidance to register after taking the test.
If you are a graduate or research student considering taking these Japanese classes, please come directly to the classroom on the test date listed below.
If you cannot come on this test date, please contact the level coordinator for the class you wish to take by Tuesday, April 23rd, 2024.
 
●Schedule of the Japanese Proficiency Check Test
   1. A Test (For the students who would like to take A3 or B1 classes)
          Date: Tuesday, April 2nd, 2024   Venue: Global Ed. Ctr. #206
Writing Test 13:30 – 14:00
Oral Test 14:00 – 15:30 *The finishing time may be moved earlier or later; it depends on the number of examinees. About 10 minutes per person. You can go home after your session is finished. 
   2. B Test (For the students who would like to take B2 or C1 classes)
          Date: Wednesday, April 3rd, 2024  Venue: Global Ed. Ctr. #203

What is your Japanese level?

First, check your current Japanese proficiency (listening, reading, speaking-interaction, speaking-presentation, writing) on ​​the “Japanese Check! (Agency for Cultural Affairs)” page below and consider which classes you should take. If your current Japanese proficiency is between A2 and C1, and you would like to take classes at the A3, B1, B2, and C1 levels, be sure to take the above Japanese language proficiency check test given by the Global Education Center of the University of the Ryukyus.
In addition, regardless of the results of the online Japanese language proficiency check below, students in the short-term exchange program (the RISE program) must check which class guidance they must participate in according to the information email from the university.
