SCHOLARSHIP FOR PRIVATE-EXPENSE STUDENTS

a) Honors Scholarships for Privately Financed International Students

The Japan Student Services Organization (JASSO) awards scholarships to privately financed students who have excellent academic records, are of good character, and are in need of financial assistance for study in Japan (auditors are not eligible to apply).

b) Scholarships by International Associations and Private Foundations

Most scholarships must be applied for in Japan after entering the university. Qualifications for application (including student status, major, nationality, and so on) vary depending on the type of scholarship and the sponsoring association/foundation.

c) Japanese Government(Monbu-kagakusho:MEXT) Scholarship Program(Domestic Selection)

University of the Ryukyus provides MEXT with recommendations for awarding MEXT Scholarships to academically outstanding individuals who are considered in need of a scholarship. Recommendations can be made on behalf of individuals registered as graduate students at the University of the Ryukyus (Domestic Selection).
